These slides were presented to the Illinois Maternal Mortality Review Committee following updates to the committee decisions form and include Illinois’ approach to incorporating updates into the review process. Updates included format changes, including a table to list contributing factors and recommendations side-by-side, and new additions to the form. Additions included a checkbox for whether discrimination contributed to the death as well as three new contributing factors and definitions: discrimination, interpersonal racism, and structural racism.
