South Dakota Success Story: New MMRC Uses Innovative Tool to Move Concepts to Recommendation and Action

The major 2021 focus of the South Dakota MMRC was moving from concept to action with discrimination in stories as a starting point. The new MMRC accomplished this by taking part in the Texas Discrimination Assessment and Social Determinants of Health Facilitated Discussion (DASH) Tool Pilot Study that resulted in a focused and constructive review of life stories and the development of our own socio-spatial tool unique to our state needs that encompass urban, rural and frontier areas at all applicable levels .
