Brief Overview of State MMR or PAMR

Colorado’s Maternal Mortality Review Committee was established in 1993, with many of the founding members still engaged. This multi-disciplinary committee has 25 members and meets quarterly. The Committee reviews all pregnancy-associated cases, excluding homicides. In 2013, Colorado had 65,004 live births and 30 pregnancy-associated deaths. The Committee determined 5 of these cases to be pregnancy-related. The Committee aims to identify trends and risk factors in Colorado to then develop actionable strategies for prevention and intervention.
